pOn St. Patrick's Day we were invited to a party, it was being catered by Oscar's. My husband called ahead to the restaurant to ask about the ingredients ( the hostess had included menu items in our invitation- very allergy aware). The manager of the Oscar's my husband spoke to was so helpful and knowledgeable on allergies. Turns out the one we called was not the one actually supplying the party. Anyway, this manager got off the phone with my husband called the other Oscar's and reviewed the menu items ordered for the party with that manager. She then called the hostess of the party to let her know the salad dressing on the chicken salad she ordered was not safe for one of her guests to eat (pine nuts)./p
p When the food was delivered the catering guy discreetly took the hostess aside giving her a small bag. In the bag was an individual salad prepared safely for my daughter. They did not want her to go without at the party. This was all done at no extra cost to the hostess./p
pWe of course called the restaurant to thank them and e- mailed a thank you and they said they take allergies very seriously. Allergy awareness is part of the manager training./p
pI just had to share this incredible experience with everyone. We had a great time and all ate like piggies!/p

What and where is Oscar's? Sounds like it might be worth us moving to be near them !

Oscar's is a restaurant chain. I live in the Northern San Diego county area of California. They are all over the place around here. They have the most incredible breadsticks you could ever eat!

Denver doesn't know what food is unless it involves a buffalo or a huge slab of beef.

Oscar's sounds wonderful! I sure hope they come to Northern California. I have never heard of them before and as far as I know there aren't any around here. What a great experience for you and your daughter!!!
