I'M A 12 YEAR OLD BOY AND I'M DOING A SCIENCE PROJECT ON NUT/PEANUT ALLERGY TO SEE IF THERE IS A COMMON REASON WHY PEOPLE GET NUT ALLERGIES SO IF U HAVE A NUT/PEANUT ALLERGY PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT [email]BBALLPLAYA2411@AOL.COM[/email] THANK YOU

4. Do you have any other allergies? Yes____ No____ ENVIRONMENTAL: DUST, POLLEN, ETC.
5. If the answer to #4 is Yes, list other things you are allergic to.
6. At what age did you discover that you had a nut and/or peanut allergy? ____ 3 YEARS
7. How did you first find out you had a nut/peanut allergy?
____ a reaction to the nut/peanut ____ allergy test REACTION TO THE NUTS AND PEANUTS
8. Did your mother smoke when she was pregnant with you? Yes___ No____ NO

YES: ENVIRONMENTAL, AND MOTHER HAS ALLERGIES TO PENICILLIN AND SULFA DRUGS

13. Does anyone in your extended family have a nut/peanut allergy? Yes__ No__
NO
14. If you answered Yes to #13, who is allergic and what are they allergic to?
15. Does anyone in your extended family have other allergies? Yes___ No___ AUNT HAS DRUG ALLERGIES

1. females, (my two daughters)
2. 3 and 6
3. peanuts (not other nuts/tree nuts)
4. yes
5. other food allergies include wheat, soy and egg (which they are outgrowing rapidly) these were never serious in terms of anaphylaxis for our girls, though
6. both found around the age of 12 months
7. first child find out by serious reaction to peanut butter. second child found out by testing
8. no smoking!
9. yes
10. their father is allergic to walnuts, pecans and was allergic also to soy, wheat and eggs as a child
11. yes
12. mother has seasonal allergies like hayfever but no food allergies she is aware of. one half brother has some minor problems with milk and wheat and one half sister has hayfever
13. no
14. n/a
15. yes
16. seasonal allergies like hayfever on mother's side of the family. no other food allergies on either side of extended family
17. older peanut allergic daughter does have asthma
second peanut allergic daughter does not (yet) have asthma

5. If the answer to #4 is Yes, list other things you are allergic to. The bad ones are dust, mildew, pollen, grasses, most trees (especially junipers and firs). The not so bad allergies which I can consume to some extent are milk, egg, wheat, potato, legumes (peas, soy, etc.), tomatoes, fresh fruit (can eat canned, cooked, frozen, or marinated)
6. At what age did you discover that you had a nut and/or peanut allergy? ___infancy__
7. How did you first find out you had a nut/peanut allergy?

8. Did your mother smoke when she was pregnant with you? Yes___ No_x___

12. If you answered Yes to #11, who is allergic and what are they allergic to? Child and two grandchildren -- environmentals like dust, mildew, pollen, grass, etc. One granddaughter is lactise intollerant. My father was allergic to shellfish.

14. If you answered Yes to #13, who is allergic and what are they allergic to?

Environmentals, milk, chocolate. Cousins, aunts, uncles

Mother has egg, dairy and environmental allergies.

Grandmother (maternal) to treenuts, never tested just had reactions.

Grandmother (maternal) animals, some fruits, treenuts: Grandfather (paternal)
Possible environmental: Uncle peas, cats: Grandmother (paternal- deceased) was

14.2 first cousins (boys) allergic to all nuts, soy, eggs, fish, and much more

7. A very bad reaction (we're still not sure what to, but assume it was because someone who ate peanuts/nuts touched him)

12. Mom (some foods, hay fever), Dad (hay fever and asthma)

Only peanuts

7. How did you first find out you had a
nut/peanut allergy? Broke out in hives immediately following a lick of PB off a spoon. An Allergist/Immunologist confirmed the allergy with the CAP RAST blood test
8. Did your mother smoke when she was
pregnant with you? No
9. Does anyone in your immediate family have
nut/peanut allergies? No
10. If you answered Yes to #9, who is allergicand what are they allergic to?
11. Does any one in your immediate family have other allergies? Yes
12. If you answered Yes to #11, who is allergic and what are they allergic to? Both parents have terrible environmental allergiest - Father since he was a young child and mother since college
