It has been made quite clear that some of us are sensitive to that word, so I think finding an alternative is imperative, simply out of respect.
MommaBear, I like "Peanut Pincher"!

I am confused if I have to forfeit my own opinion of it's use in the process
I never said anything about you having to forfeit your own opinion in my posting. I just felt that due to the affect that this word was having on other members, it would be considerate to refrain from using it. You are welcome to continue to use it in your own life, but as it affects others I just suggested we stop using it here.

I believe I have just as much a reason to be upset over the term, but am not
That is fine for you to have that opinion, but others may feel differently so that is why we are suggesting to stop using the word here as it is upsetting to others.

I wasn't picking a fight. I was defending being attacked
I hope you do not think I was attacking you in my post. I do not believe anything I wrote was an attack and it was not intended to be one.

So, if something hurts me, it's not important?
I do not see anyone saying this. In fact, in a different thread I recall someone saying "I can understand ... your feelings may have even been hurt." and you replied Hurt, no? Raised eyebrow, yes . So people here at PA.COM may not realize when you are hurt if you don't tell us when something upsets you.

Please explain why I am being singled out?
Firstly, you posted several times so that is one reason I replied to you (hard to miss all your postings). Plus, I had only replied to you, because you compared using that word, to people calling you names (which no one else had posted).
No one in this thread was saying it is ok to call people names. I agree with you that people should not use name calling here and I have posted that many times.
I hope this clarifies my original post.

I will create a new topic called "Peanut Pincher, Peanut Pioneer, post your names suggestions... " for people who want to suggest a name.
That way, this thread can die sometime soon so people won't have to see the offending words in the daily topics every day.

Erik will you marry me?
You are a smart and decent guy.

I would like to clarify in case people think what I said in my first post was being insensitive or non-offended..that in fact I was being sarcastic and truly offended. But not offended the same way people were that actually have ties to the holocoust, my sympathy goes out to those who were.
I was being sarcastic b/c I thought that making up a term such as the one that was made, was ridiculing people who in fact take care of their children with PA. I find that all the definintions that was given was in fact something that only a loving parent would do, and don't feel it's being overly nerotic like was implied.
So, just to clarify, I wasn't being insensitive.

Thou doest protest too much.
I was not referring to the "Merlot Incident". LOL. Here, in your quote, I was referring to the nurse issue. I actually still have a raised eyebrow, but considering some persons have assumed I have been hurt, they should probably work off their assumptions whether they are true or not. This since, if they assume it, they probably believe it, so maybe their actions should be based on that predication, no? It's a paradoxical theory, yes, but a good one. If you believe what you assume, and act upon those beliefs, whether or not they are true, it is just as good an indication of what substance you are made of as any? No? I was more or less pointing out "whited walls".
MommaBear (still with raised eyebrow, and some pretty thick skin)
PS The merlot is flowing freely, and my sense of clarity is full swing.
PPS In reference to the "Merlot Incident": The only thing that hurt was the orifice. And that is healing nicely.
Again, Kudo's to Cayley's Mom regarding her suggestion of stemware. AAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEESOME!!!!!
Erik,
Exactly why did you repost in this thread regarding the "raised eyebrow" issue? I'm all ears.
