Darn! I just purchased a box today to keep in my daughter's classroom as her special treat when homemade goodies are brought in for birthdays. She was so excited to get them - she'll be so sad that they won't be safe much longer.

DD ate one and never asked for another. DS won't touch them. DH says they bring back bad memories of his childhood in the south.
Bleah.

I personally don't like them (I remembered them as tasting much better when I was a kid!), but DS loves them. And he's the one who matters.

FYI...went to buy moon pies today at walmart and thought I had plenty of time before the new label changes took effect BUT all the boxes at walmart already have the peanut/treenut warning. So, I had to explain to 4 yr old DS that these are no longer safe for him. He was sad, but we'll find something else. I also emailed the company.

I've seen a ton that are still safe around me..
If anyone wants to have me get them, let me know...
Interresting. I usually never find these where I live. I went to a store lightly out of my way(but better prices) today.
They have Mini Moonpies ("chocolate flavor with StarDust Sprinkles). It is a 12 oz package with 10 individually wrapped pies. I dare not make a typo as I cannot edit.
Allergy information: Our company DOES NOT manufacture any items with peanuts.
Their capitalization, not mine.
Expiration of 12/07/07.
This is in MA.

Lightly out of my way, yeah.
Ummm, slightly out of my way. That's all I caught so far.

This is terrible!! I had to stop eating them due to my soy allergy, but I can't believe that the company shows so little concern for their customers. Their response floored me - it's as if they are saying, "We don't care about our current consumers, we are more worried about the dollar signs we see all over the potential ones."

Adult onset Peanut (ana) & Soy Allergies (non-ana, but progressing).
Re-raising. I think it is a VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE. A previously nut-free, allergy aware company is taking a 180. Turning their back on all of us. A sad day, indeed.
Have a blessed day,
We don't eat moonpies (yet... may have started as a special treat when our my son starts school), but I will email to help those of you who are losing a nice treat. I know my favorites could be next.
Where can I purchase these moonpies? Are they in USA or Canada? Thanks!
