I'm posting this in the Main Board hoping someone may have seen this story, and I tried to link to it, but it doesn't seem to be on the site. It was on Fox 5 New York. The girl is 4 and allergic to so many chemicals and almost every food. When she was younger she was malnourished because she reacted to everything. Her parents homeschool the children (two others) so they won't bring home any substances. They hardly have any company and never go anywhere. The parents are in $70,000 debt because her treatments are considered "experimental" and not covered by insurance.

Her doctor gave her mother what appeared to be a huge tray of trace amounts of substances the girl's allergic to, in the hopes of building up tolerances. They showed her taking these treatments in the form of liquid in her mouth. They installed a sauna, which she uses for 1/2 hour to sweat out the toxins. She takes certain vitamins before then after the sauna. Once her mother tried to give her one of the foods and her eczema flared up so badly (there was a picture of that).

The story was very long, and it was done very well. This poor family. It must be so heartbreaking for the parents and the poor girl having to go through this. I hope she outgrows most of it.

I believe this is the same little girl that was profiled by the Buffalo News on March 12, 2006. The story has been archived but it looks like you might be able to view it if you register.
