My son was just diagnosed with PA and we found out the hard way.Timmy is 1 week shy of one year and I've been so careful with the foods I introduce. It was always five days of a new item before starting something new. I wouldn't let him start foods like peanutbutter, strawberries, chocolate, etc. until after his first Bday. But a day care worker gave him a tiny piece of a PB cookie which he vomited back up and began to develop a rash. By the time I got to the Day Care center I didn't even recognize him at first. He was quite swollen on his left side with a black eye and swollen lips. I was terrified. Luckily I got him to the Hospital in time and everything subsided after a few days. I am so greatful to have found a site like this. It has answered so many questions. My husband and I have made the house peanut free, including the peanuts my husband feeds to the birds.
New to site and PA
