New Printable PA Posters with more to come...

I got the idea for this from another link that was here and thought I'd try my hand at doing some posters. I would love to get some ideas for more and will be adding tons more "stuff" to the page real soon : ) Valerie

Thank you for the compliments [img][/img] Just wanted to let you know I just put up 2 more today. If you have any ideas of something you would like to see I would love to have some suggestions! Valerie

On Sep 18, 2001

Love these posters!!! I printed all of them and plan to laminate and give to school. Would you consider making one that says "This is a peanut/nut free home" Our son loves Bob the Builder and characters from Nicholodeon,as do other kids...simple is great, but the characters really add a lot of attention. I hung one in our pantry and one on our frig. Thanks so much.

On Sep 18, 2001

Thought of something else..Blue with the cork board could just be altered in another version replacing classroom with home.??just a thought...thx

On Sep 18, 2001

Great job with the posters! I would love to see one for older school age kids.

I would also love to see one that is a blackboard/chalk board that has blank lines for example,

Ms. teacher's name class Room XXX

is peanut free

Please do not bring any food that contains peanuts or peanut butter to this class

Thank you for your cooperation!

I would love to have one to send home along with a letter to each student/family in my son's class.

Thank you for all your work!

On Sep 18, 2001

Neighborgal: Excellent work!! I appreciate your sharing these posters with us and I just printed them out. I can't wait to bring them to my childs preschool. I think the above suggestion from Cindia for making a poster to send home to the parents would be great and would really catch their attention. I look forward to your additions to the site, again, Thank You!

On Sep 18, 2001

I'm so glad that someone is able to use them [img][/img] Cindia, sounds like some wonderful ideas! I will try either tonight or tomorrow morning to get them done.

On Sep 18, 2001

Just finished the chalkboard one and the Bob the Builder one. I found a picture of Bob the Builder but did not have a colored picture of him... so I made one that a child could color. I thought that would look cuter and save a bundle on colored ink [img][/img] Keep the ideas coming! [img][/img] Valerie

On Sep 18, 2001

There are now 10 posters (and 1 for severe cat allergies also).

Hope these help [img][/img] Valerie

On Sep 19, 2001

YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nicholas saw this one with 'BOB' this a.m. and fell in love with it. It will be at preschool today. Thanks so much for going at it so quickly. Bless your day and we surely appreciate your talents.

On Sep 19, 2001

Thanks again Valerie!! My son loves Bob The Builder!! Keep up the great work!

On Sep 19, 2001

How about a Bob The Builder "This is a peanut/nut free classroom" ?? Also, just a suggestion: at our preschool we have arranged that the children drop their lunches into a basket at the door, and the lunches are brought back later; so we have a sign that says "Stop! please put lunches in basket, no lunches past this point" (with an arrow pointing down. Maybe something like this for schools would be helpful. Let me know what you think...thanks!!!! [img][/img]

On Sep 19, 2001

Good job NEIGHBORGAL. I love the posters! Great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us. [img][/img]

On Sep 19, 2001

My child's teacher loved the posters. I am heading off to have some of them laminated.

My husband suggested that it is a good idea to change the posters in the classrooms every so often so people continue to "see" them. As part of the safety procedures at his company, they change the signs every few months (different background color, font change, design changes) so people remain aware of them.

On Sep 19, 2001

Thanks for the chalk board one! I would love to have one in Spanish too. But, I'm afraid I would be of no help with the translation. Thanks for all your hard work! -Cindia

On Sep 20, 2001

SF, Just got the two that you suggested on the page : ) Hope these are what you had in mind : )

Cindia, If I can find someone to translate for me I'd be glad to do some in Spanish - that is a wonderful idea! I know in the area that we live in there is a lot of Spanish children in our schools and I'm sure its that way all over. I spent a summer in Chile but my Spanish wasn't very good even then [img][/img] I have some friends that I'm sure will translate for me the next time I see them [img][/img]

If anyone has any more ideas just give a holler [img][/img] Valerie

On Sep 21, 2001

Valerie, I can't thank you enough! They are perfect! Thanks for helping me keep my preschool class peanut/nut free. I hope that everyone on sees your site and uses the posters to help spread the word. Thanks again for your time and creativity,SF

On Sep 21, 2001

Thank you very much for your hard work. I gave a couple to my PA son's first grade class and also to his former kindergarten teacher who currently has 2 PA students in her classroom. They were both appreciative.

On Sep 21, 2001

Did someone say they wanted to do these in Spanish? A very good friend of mine translated them for you! [img][/img]

Dear Valerie and Teacher,

This is so incredible, all I can say is thank you, thank you!

On Sep 21, 2001

Teacher, Thank you so much for doing this for me! It is greatly appreciated!

It will probably be at least Monday before I can get to it as my PA son's birthday is tomorrow [img][/img] I can't believe Timmy is going to be 6 tomorrow! Time sure flies!

I'm so glad that these are being used!

Another question... should I do separate Spanish ones or should I do English/Spanish ones on the same poster?

Thanks Again! Valerie

On Sep 21, 2001

I was thinking that I would just print out English on one side of the paper and Spanish on the other to send home with the children. Maybe having both English and Spanish on one poster would make it seem too busy and people would be less inclined to read it. -Cindia

On Oct 17, 2001

I haven't had the time to do the Spanish ones yet, but will SOON. Life has been soooo hectic with 4 little ones lately.

I just put 2 more posters up for a pn/nut free table if anyone is interested [img][/img]

On Apr 1, 2002

Just wanted to let you all know that I have finally started on the Spanish posters.

I am willing to do special posters to order with your child's picture or whatever you would like on it. There will be a small $5 fee (sent to Chris for the PA website) for the one's with a photo on it... any others that I can put on the website for others to use are free.

Hope this helps [img][/img] Valerie

Just wanted to let you all know that there are 6 new PA posters on the website (3 of them are Scooby Doo for your little fans [img][/img] )

Take Care, Valerie

On Jun 11, 2002

Valerie, thanks for the new Scooby posters!

I use these often and I am planning to use some new ones for camp this summer and school in September!

I would love to see something that says STOP! No Food Past This Point! (with the stop sign at the top) and an arrow... Preschoolers often walk into class while finishing their breakfast and this would help to remind the parents of our classroom rules.

How about a Scooby poster that says this is a peanut/nut free classroom?

Again, thank you for all of the work you have done and for sharing them with us!

We are printing them as we speak for his room, his kindergarten class and his little friend that has PA. Many thanks.

Just thought I'd bring this up since school is now starting for everyone.

If there is anything new that you need let me know.

I'm teaching 11 and 12th grade yearbook and 9th grade computer at my children's school this year in the afternoon and enjoying it [img][/img]

On Sep 7, 2002

Thank you so much for the posters. I met with my son's first grade teacher, the music, art and PE teachers and the librarian the day before Open House at our school. They all were very impressed with the posters! My son's teacher laminated them right away and had one hanging outside the classroom door when all of the parents came the next day for Open House. I know a sign would not have been posted that quickly without your ready-made ones. Thank you so much! So many peanut allergic children have benefited from your great idea and artistic talents!

I was in this section to check a couple of other older threads and came up with this thread when I did a search. I thought it couldn't hurt to re-raise it. [img][/img]

On May 3, 2003

Re Raising... does anyone have any ideas for some new posters? I'm going to be working on some new ones in the next couple of weeks. I was also thinking about putting the 504 information on a page on the website. Maybe a way to put it all together in one place?? What do you all think? Anything else that you would like to see on the website? All ideas are appreciated!

Thanks, Valerie

On May 4, 2003

Valerie, these are wonderful. I was thinking of making one for my son to put on his door at college. I'm not too sure how it will go over but want to make it available to him should he like the idea.

Maybe you could make one that says

or something like that. For an adult really. Not too cutesy, just the facts.

I was thinking of a Mr. Peanut logo with the circle and line over him.

Thanks so much. Peg541

On May 4, 2003

Can you do a poster that says "Thanks for remembering this is a Peanut/Nut Free School" (with the stop sign & peanuts with the circle and line thru it) to be put in the cafeteria & front entrances of our school? That would be great.

Also, could one be done for the school bus with similar wording. Thanks if these posters can be added to the great collection.

On May 4, 2003

What a GREAT website! I just printed off 5 of your posters-for our house, my daughters bedroom, and a few for her peanut-free school. Thank you for taking the time to make these wonderful posters! [img][/img]

On May 17, 2003

I'm sorry that it has taken me sooooo long, but I finally got them done. There are now 28 PA posters! I also started another page for different severe allergies (there is a link on the bottom of the posters page). So far I just have 2- one for cats and one for fish.

I'd be happy to take more requests if there is anything you would like to see there.

re-raising for another poster

On Aug 20, 2003

I have a request for a sign, which I've been unable to find anywhere.

Here's the brief background on the situation: Our elementary school will be peanut and tree nut free for all Kindergarten classes (signage for those rooms is easy).

The rest of the school will embark on an educational process, including PAL program, and a separate letter will be sent to parents REQUESTING that they NOT send peanut and tree nut products to school in order to provide a safe community.

So, for the rest of the campus, it would be good to have a sign indicating that the school is "food allergy aware" and something like "please don't bring peanut or tree nut products on site".

I will think about desired language and post it soon.

I think this type of sign/poster would be really helpful for schools or portions of school sites that engage in risk reduction policies.

On Aug 20, 2003

Gary, great idea! My PA son is entering kindergarten and all 3 kindergarten classes will be nut free. We are working on ncreasing allergy awareness and hope for the rest of the school to go nut free within the next year. Great suggestions, I would love to have these posters to hang in our school! [img][/img]

On Aug 20, 2003

Great posters! Thanks for making them available to all. I teach, and will have a peanut allergic child in my Grade 2 classroom this coming year, so have printed out several of the posters. My almost 17 year old son is also peanut/soy allergic, and I wish these posters had been around when he was little - I can't draw a straight line [img][/img]

On Aug 27, 2003

As a follow up to my previous post, how about something like:

This school is "Food Allergy Aware". For our children's safety, no peanut/nut products, please!

On Aug 27, 2003

Great suggestion, Gary...this would be a great poster for our school also! Thanks Valerie for making these available to us! [img][/img]

On Sep 2, 2003

Hi all, I just now saw your requests and I have a couple of others in my email. Our computer crashed but I do have the use of one at the school where I teach. I will try to do the posters later today and have them all posted on the site tomorrow (I have to come to the college library to access the internet). I'm sorry that it has taken so long!

On Sep 3, 2003

I got 3 new posters done... they are at I haven't gotten them on the main page yet because I did not have time to do thumbnails for them, so they are all full sized. I lost all of my stop signs and peanut pics along with my computer [img][/img] I'm going to save them from the website so that I can use them next time- so if you don't like the ones I did then let me know and I'll try again when I have the right pics to do them with.

Hope these are what you are looking for. Valerie

On Sep 3, 2003

Do you have any designs that are suitable for the adult workplace?

On Sep 3, 2003

Thanks for all of your hard work Valerie!!

I just went today and made color copies of some of the original posters you have for classrooms and then I had them laminated. I brought them to our PA sons kindergarten teacher and she was thrilled! They look great!

I can't wait to print these new "Food Allergy Aware" posters and do the same thing. I will bring them to the school principal to have posted on the school doors and main areas.

Thanks a million! [img][/img]

On Sep 3, 2003

Hi Valerie! I am planning an allergy awareness program and using some info from the PAL program to speak at my PA sons elementary school, he starts kindergarten tomorrow!

I have an idea, can you make a "coloring page" something that the children can color with crayons after I read them a story about peanut allergy? This way they will have something to take home and the parents will know that they discussed PA in school that day. It will also serve as a reminder to the other parents to become "Allergy Aware".

Thanks again, Valerie!

On Sep 4, 2003

Elisabeth, I would be happy to do some for adults if you could give me some ideas [img][/img] I did have some done that would have been great, but our computer crashed before I got them up on the website and I lost them [img][/img]

SF, I'm sooooo glad that you have been able to use the posters. I can do a coloring sheet, but won't be able to get back till tomorrow am sometime to put it up. I have strep throat and a double ear infection. I'm not going into work today but had to go out and get some o.j. and tylenol so I thought I'd come and do a quick email check. Hope that is soon enough for you.

On Sep 4, 2003

Thanks for working on the "Food Allergy Aware" posters so quickly.

Sorry that you're having computer problems. Personally, I think that once you have access to your additional graphics (like the stop sign + others), I'd like to suggest substituting the original graphics for some of your other ones that would make the signs a bit more appealing.

I showed the one with the "patriotic" image of the children to one or two people and got some reaction to it....that it might create some do this is a "patriotic" thing to do.

On Sep 4, 2003

Thanks Valerie, take care of yourself and get well soon!

I too would like to see the new posters with a STOP sign to catch attention with some color etc.

I love the wording: This school is "Food Allergy Aware"..... Can you make all 3 new posters with other graphics? Thanks again! [img][/img]

On Sep 5, 2003

Several of my co-workers have asthma or are sensitive to fragrances. Some of the restrooms in our building are open to the public. We could use something to put in the restrooms to make the public aware of these sensitivities.

On Sep 5, 2003

Elisabeth: great suggestion!

I would like to see many of these signs posted in our doctors offices! Once, we were at the allergist for a visit, and a patient had a bag of food, not sure what was in it but they were eating something...I say no food at the allergist office!

On Sep 8, 2003

I think I may be able to find the stop sign- it was in a font that I had and I made a backup CD with all my fonts. I'll try to get it all done and upload it tomorrow.

I've been extremely sick over the weekend. If the fever and the wheezing would ever go away I'd be ever so grateful!

I'll have that coloring sheet done by tomorrow too : )

On Sep 8, 2003

On Sep 25, 2003

THANK YOU Valerie!!

I have printed off the Severe Allergy Alert! Please Do Not Bring Peanuts/Nuts into this Room! (the one which has peanuts and peanut butter with a red line thru them)

I was wondering if you could make this same poster but change the word Room to Area[b/]?

I find the poster with the peanuts/nuts and peanut butter crossed out easier to read than the one with peanuts/nuts and peanut butter around the words. Although I printed the both out.

My daughter just started taking ballet and because the classes run in the evening starting after school and during the supper hour, the owner/teacher is willing to keep the studio peanut/nut free, so I will need something appropriate for the waiting area.

I would appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks

On Oct 2, 2003

Codyman, I'm sorry it has taken me so long... I just saw your note. I will have the poster done by either tomorrow (its my pa daughters 7th birthday, so not sure how busy it will be) or Monday at the latest.

We are having a birthday party for my 2 pa children (birthdays are 11 days apart) on Saturday. I'm really stressing about it. I sooooooo wish I could just go to WalMart and pick out a cake instead of having to make one. Oh well [img][/img] Just hoping this party turns out well. It is at a State Park on an Island and has a playground, so hopefully it does not rain.
