DebO, sounds like between us, we will deplete the Barrhaven PharmaPlus of safe Mars bars! (Bought one today for DD - and Twix for myself.)

The Bounty bar looks just like a Mounds bar. OMG, that sounds so good right now! I love coconut too! This candy thread is torture! I'll check out the link to canadian sweets later today. I might send an email to Panhandle too. It all depends on how much my level of desperation increases, though I'm guessing once my kid is out of school that will be exponential!!!

I went to Canadian Sweets -- they have Mars bars there, but they don't have the ingredient info, or the complete picture that it is peanut-free. They also have Bounty. No ingredients either. Part of my problem is that I have to have candy that is Peanut, Tree Nut and Egg free. Why can't one place have everything, products & ingredient lists?!

This is another site for ordering products from Canada. I think it's expensive, prices are in US$. Ingredient lists aren't found either, but they should be able to email ingredient info if you contact them and ask.

gvmom - I spoke with Jason at Canadian Sweets and described the new Mars Bar and the wrapper. He said he had not seen it yet, so I assume that the Mars bars they are now selling are the old, not safe ones.
Send him an e mail or give him a call so he will keep watch for them!

Thanks for the info. Hopefully these candy companies will get on the ball soon, and we can all get our fixes!

I was in Collingwood this w/e---saw the double bars in Zellers, as well, a bag of mini's, similar to the bags of Aero, Smarties, etc.

We all scarfed down our second Mars bar yesterday. My local grocery store now has the "peanut free" ones. I am just SO happy.
Now, we do have a GREAT choice of "safe" chocolate bars in Canada and I've never complained and don't eat a lot of chocolate anyway, but to have another bar "go safe", well, to me, that's just awesome.
What's even more awesome is even if it is junk food your kid is gobbling, the smile on their face to be able to try something new.
Best wishes!
