New PA Parent Run Website with Printable Posters!

You may like to check this new website out that is run by another PA parent. It has printable posters on it. It's a wonderful site and each of the posters looks simply wonderful. She, in fact, sent me a couple of copies of the one poster for my son's class, which is now up there!

Now, I know this woman's intention was to set-up this site for PA parents that may not have a lot of money to be purchasing PA posters from allergy organizations, etc. Sometimes, even with PA parents, every penny counts and she recognized the need for a site where people could print off posters, that were really great, for free.

So, kudos to this wonderful, thoughtful woman, and please check out the site.

Hopefully can up-date with CSC UserName blipped out - the new/up-dated link is:-

http://members.rogers.com/stumpf/

It's at http://members.home.net/stumpf/

I'm not sure if that will come up clickable because it DOESN'T have www in front of it, but please try to check it out regardless.

Hi Connie, and cindy, I tried the website. The first time it would not come up,but then I tried it again right away and it worked. I copied a poster and it is hanging on my door in the living room. I have never had any trouble but thought it would make a good coversation when I do have company. Take care claire

On Dec 2, 2000

Hi Claire,

After reading your post, I tried it again and couldn't get it to work so I manually typed in the web address and left off "net" at the very end and it worked.

Cindy, I am going to modify your address... http://members.home.net/stumpf/ and hopefully this will work.

Thanks Cindy for posting this great site!!

Connie, sorry, you're definitely right! Mis-typing! I feel really badly, but at least you got it right! Best wishes and many thanks.

Jeez, I realized that for people just wanting the link and not wanting anything else, I should go in and edit the link that I mis-typed in the original thread-starter. Anyway, Connie, thank-you. Now, it's properly addressed in two posts on the site.

I thought, how could you make a mistake with something this important, idiot woman? And then why leave it that way, even though Connie corrected it? The first post SHOULD have the information right.

I also e-mailed this woman's original e-mail to me about the site to every PA parent I know. I have had one parent say that they don't like to be included in group mailings, for whatever reason, so I have to go in and e-mail it separately to all of the people. I love spreading information like this though, so it was great.

Connie, thanks again. I thought, why go in there and post sorry, mis-typing, why not go in and edit (but then, you can see what time I wrote that! LOL!). Best wishes!

Cindy, you're too funny!

Claire, that's a great idea! I showed my son the site this morning and let him pick out the one he wanted printed for his bedroom door. He picked the one with the adorable kitten.

I'm going to print one off for my pantry door for babysitters and such...and you're right, it will make a great conversation piece.

Great website, great posters, great idea! Thanks for bringing it to our attention! Cayley's preschool made up their own printed out posters, but lately I noticed they're kind of ratty looking - this will be a great place for them to get new ones!

On Dec 3, 2000

Also, that's the other thing, if we, as PA parents are unable to financially provide the schools with posters, our cash strapped schools may have a hard time finding the money to do it too. Great point, Cayley's Mom!

I know that Jesse's "peanut free" classroom had a poster at adult eye level, meant for adults, and this woman had sent me one of the more child friendly posters that she's ended up including in her website. Now, Jesse's classroom has the more child friendly, but also very clearly worded poster from this website at eye levels for the kids. It's wonderful. Best wishes! Hooray!!! I loved the posters. This is just what I needed to post on the nursery doors at church and else where. Wonderful and great idea. Thank you very much. God bless you and your PA child.

Although the website address for this was posted in teacher's thread Off Topic about wanting to find a picture of a peanut, I thought I would re-raise it regardless. It may be of interest to some other people since the last time it was raised.

On May 8, 2001

I just wanted to re-raise this thread (and see that williamsmummy has already done so!) because the PA parent let me know that she had updated the website with some new posters and also some resource material. Please check it out. It is wonderful.

For teacher, that was looking for a picture of a peanut, there is definitely one there now!

I just printed one off to use for our "peanut free" table at school. Thank you so much, Cindy, for making this so easy! Without this site I cannot imagine how I would be trying to accomplish any of the stuff I've had to do to keep Leah safe. Thanks to all of you! Miriam

On Sep 13, 2001

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the parent running this website since the thread has been raised again. Part of the package of materials that I took into Jesse's school this year included new posters from her website for them to use for his classroom and anywhere else they might like.

I truly believe this is a wonderful website and I'm really hoping that if people take the time to visit they may take the additional moment to e-mail the PA parent who is running this website to thank her for her wonderful and cost-free (to us) efforts.

Many thanks and best wishes!

Is this web-site no-longer available? I can not get it to work. My daughters gymnastics coach ask me for some posters for a nut/PN free facility!

Karen T., let me check with the parent who runs the website. I hope it's not because the posters were great!

I did contact the PA parent that was running this site, and yes, it is "down" right now. She is working on getting it back up and running and it may have a different website address (which I will post if she doesn't). She was really pleased to hear from me re this though to know that people did miss the website.

I know that I gave Jesse's teachers for the past two years now, posters from the website and they are fabulous. They are child friendly and also make the point of "peanut free" really nicely rather than just the stop sign with the peanut and the cross through it.

river, excellent! Thank-you for letting us know! I know how many people here have used the site to print off posters for various things (particularly schools) and even though they might not drop you a note to thank you when they do visit the website, it is being used! Now, if I just had a dam* printer that worked!

Many thanks and best wishes!

Simply re-raising for Concerned (I believe). I think I may transfer this thread over to Schools section as well (as if I know how to really do that!).

river, I just checked to make sure that the link was working okay (I can't believe it's been almost a year since it wasn't working). At any rate, it's been awhile since I've visited the site myself and I have to say, wow, it looks absolutely fabulous! The different links look great as well. I'm really impressed. I always have been, but this just really looks sharp now.

Simply re-raising for another thread currently running under Schools.

I have to check the link to see if it's still working.

Did check the link, it is still working and what I did was edit my first post to put the working link as the first link in the post so people don't click on the first one, find it doesn't work and then have to go through the posts until they find river's post with the up-dated link.

Again, the up-dated link is in the first post.

The site still looks great IMHO.

I also remembered that I now have a printer again!

I know this thread is a bit old, but was wondering if this site still exists or has been changed to something else? I would love to print out the posters. The link that comes up is a real estate site.

The member who started this website (the one that is missing) stopped posting on PA.com over a year and a half ago. I suspect that the website no longer exists, or, if it does, only certain people know about it (and I'm not one of them )

I know that Jana R. posted an excellent website for really great, age appropriate posters - if you can find a post from her it might be in her signature even, the website. I know I checked out her posters and as I say, they were really good and age appropriate as your child is moving through the grades.

Hope this helps.

Yeah...it's a shame that the website listed above is no longer working.

The site listed in this post, though, is still on-line, and there are some good free posters available...
