My husband and I will be going to N.O. for our anniversary, and are interested in hearing about some recommendations for dining there. Neither of us are PA (son is and staying with Grandma) but would like to hear what you liked, where you would go again etc.

Thanks

Haven't been there for almost two years (used to have a client there and went all the time), but....
NOLA is great - small and special with wonderful service. NOLA is not a classic overcommercialized Emerial LaGasse thing.
Have a muffalata somewhere and if you are patient line up for Paul Prodommes - I never lasted through the line. Brennans is where Bannana's Foster was invented - and it is great. Also the Gumbo shop was good too and a good choice for a quicker dinner.
Also FYI if you are a jogger or walker, ask your hotel for a map of safe routes - unfortunatly there are parts of the city you don't want to be in AT ALL and solitary exercisers are a big target.
Hope you have a nice time.

I am PA and Tree Nut allergic and will be in NO this fall and would be very curious if there are any places that are safe for me to eat.

When I am there, where ever we eat, I will ask if they are PA aware/safe. I can tell you that I know that we are going to Port Of Call for a cheeseburger (my sister's favorite place to eat there) and everything else is up in the air right now.

I have not eaten at K Pauls. It is very popular and the line up outside forms early - even before the resturant opens. I don't think they take reservations, but if you want to go, see if there is any way you can get a reservation (maybe they have changed their policy or if you have a certain size group) or ask them what time they suggest you line up. I was always there on business when I was there and not able to get into the line in an position that would get me in at a resonable time - if at all.
I have heard that it is great and obviously Paul is a legend.
Let me know what you do and if you like it!
