Hello everyone. I'm the mom of 4 yr old b/g twins, and a 15th mo old. My son is allergic to peanuts, mold, cats and dust. I found out when he was 2yrs old w/a scratch test. The doctor told me he was PA, gave me a script for the epi pen and FAAN website. He then left me crying in the office with no other info. I have now since found a great new allergist and have found a wealth of valuable information from this discussion board. He is in Pre-k with a wonderful teacher but the school itself could have a better policy with food allergies. He has a "safe snack box" at school so if the teacher questions any food or treat brought in by a parent he has something safe and yummy to eat. Even though notes to parents have gone out about his allergy, I'm sure you all know the dreaded "may contains" slip in. I want to thank you all for the wonderful information you have given me. You have helped me make my son's life a lot safer and more enjoyable.
