Hi,
It does sound as if she is allergic to fish and peanut. She needs the EpiPen Jr. I went through doc's not wanting to test then having the skin testing on my son- He showed positive to peanut and some other foods- but I didn't get EpiPen until quite a while- (and yes he had a scarry reaction while on vaction) after his second skin testing in which he had huge welts at several places on his body-( He could have had a reaction to the skin testing) Finally his allergist(who didn't like CAP RAST testing -which is a blood test ordered that for peanut- it came back with >100- and I finally got the EpiPen.
By the way I'll never let him be skin tested again because it exposes him to the allergen and some poeple have gone into a life-theatening reaction from the skin testing.
Be firm and demand an EpiPen Jr. as this medicince buys you 15 min of time to slow a life-threatening reaction and allows time for help to arrive- 911 etc
Have testing done on lots of things when CAP RAST is done even though most poeple don't have all the allergies my son does it is best to know everything that you may need to avoid for a time-my son has outgrown 7 of his food allergies so far.
Take Care,
JanB

Hives from Fruit Loops?
Brimor, when you go to the allergist, you might want to ask them to scratch test for other common food allergies. It will give you an idea of a few other things that your child might be less allergic to such as: wheat, eggs, milk, etc.
Many of our PA kids have multiple food allergies. My son who was diagnosed with multiple food allergies at only 3 months (by scratch tests)now is showing signs of respiritory allergies at 2 and 1/2. Be watchful and aware of other potential allergies. Make detailed notes of the circumstances of each of these allergic reactions and report them to the allergist. You may find that your child is allergic to more than just fish and peanuts.
Regarding the peanut allergy, it sounds all too familiar to us. My son has only had scratch tests for peanut but I have since learned that they can be dangerous for the highly allergic. You may want to ask the allergist to dilute the test or do a RAST instead. Tell the allergist that you think it is a severe PA and he/she will take proper precautions.
Please try to eliminate all peanut from her environment. Continual exposure may make her more sensitive to the allergen.
Good luck. Everything will be OK now that you know what to do.

It sounds like you got the message to eliminate all peanut from her environment. This is good because continual exposure may make her more sensitive to the allergen.
Good luck. Everything will be OK now that you know what to do.
