Has anyone tried the Namaste Food Products?? They seem to be free of every allergen we are avoiding....peanut, tree nuts, soy, corn, egg, dairy and wheat. I'm just wondering if they are any good before I go and order some of their products. Also, I've tried the Enjoy Life cookies but not the bars or bagels. Any good? Not available at our local whole foods so I was going to order.

Thanks,
Elena

I made the Namaste "muffins" this weekend. On their website they suggest using the EnerG egg replacer - a little more than the package reccomends and just adding it to the dry ingredients....do not reconstitute it.....I did this for one egg....and also added applesauce for the other egg. I added dried cherries and choc chips.
They are a bit (well more than a bit actually) chewy and might be a little undercooked but they taste good! DS likes them just fine.
The package says muffins....but to me they seem almost like cupcakes....just a white cake like battter....I boght a bunch of them and will be trying them out soon.
I also tried products from The Craving Place with good success. I made the corn bread and it was very good.
I have heard Namaste's pizza crust is very good....but there was none of the shelf when I went.
We like the enjoy life bars. Especially the berry one...the chocolate one is ok...but it looks funny to me.
I also got the Enjoy Life granola and used it to make the granola recipe from Rachel Ray on one of the threads here. I found peanut free rice crisp and corn crisp cereal and used those...I didn't have pretzels so I just tossed in some seasalt. It worked out great! DS will be lucky to get any!

Thanks to both of you for your reply. I did pick up the Namaste pizza crust at whole foods as that is the only Namaste products they had. Have not tried yet. About the muffins...I seem to have trouble with baking in general with the ener-g egg replacer. Nothing ever seems to come out very good...to my taste buds at least. My 22 month old son doesn't seem to notice though, so I guess thats all that matters. I will order the enjoy life bars to try since I haven't seen any other bars out there that my son can eat. I just hope they aren't overly sweet. I don't like giving him a snack that seems to sugary. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback. Anyone tried the enjoy life cinnamon raisin bagels???

I don't think the EL bars are too sweet. I may have when ds was 22 months....but not now. I think they are worth a try.

We've used the chocolate cake mix and the pizza crust - both were delicious.

We make the Namaste muffins (no sugar added! wholegrain!) and the Spice Cake (carrot cake) mixes. I've had friends who love the brownies, but I can make brownies without a mix.

Enjoy Life cookies are okay.
Enjoy Life granola bars are fair.
Enjoy Life granola is DISGUSTING!!!
But
Enjoy Life trail mix, if you don't mind choc chips in therer, is great.
Very inconsistent company. Hot or miss for goodness.

Thats what I thought. I think the cookies (Enjoy Life) are just o.k. They all taste the same to me. I just ordered the bars to try, but I have a feeling I won't like them much. As for the Namaste products, so far I am disappointed. I made the muffins last night and I thought they were disgusting. My son didn't care for them either.
Thanks,
Elena

I just made the Namaste brownies....my guess is that if you use eggs these would be delish....but I would still probably cut the oil a little...
I followed their website that said add egg replacer not reconstituted to the dry mix (and more than is called for) and then add all the ingredients....well it was VERY stiff...not even really batter at all...so then I added some more water...lets see I added close to 2 tablespoons of egg replacer and then about 1/4 cup of water..... then I used a oiled spoon to smoosh them into the pan.
While cooking they looked more like they were boiling than baking....but actually they were probably frying. they are VERY oily and kind of hard....just not right...but the taste is still good....kind of....DS said they were "twice as good". Next time I will half the oil and add a half cup of applesauce instead and maybe reconstitute the egg replacer before adding it to the mix.
Or I'll buy a mix from The Craving Place that doesn't call for eggs.

Yes, I've heard the Cravings Place products are good, but I think they have corn in them and we are avoiding corn right now. The egg part is definitely the challenge. If you replace an egg with applesauce, you use one cup of applesauce???
