Here is my question and reply from Myron's. They make asian sauces/marinades and I have seen them sold here in MA at Whole Foods stores. I love their teriaki sauce!

Not the most detailed answer, but maybe I can get some more information from them.

QUESTION
I am having a hard time finding safe asian sauces for my family because my daughter is allergic to peanuts. Many brands make a
peanut-based sauce that can possibly cross-contaminate their other sauces. I didn't see any sauces on your website that included
peanuts as an ingredient, but I wanted to make sure that your sauces were not produced at a facility where peanuts were used in other products/brands.

RESPONSE

We do not manufacture anything that contains peanuts or peanut derived ingredients.

I ordered from them a couple of months ago. I haven't tried all of them yet, but what I have tried is delicious.
Also, when I called the company, Chef Myron himself answered the phone, so I know I wasn't just getting a canned answer from the CSR.

Do either of you know if they use treenuts in any of their products?
Thanks,
Debbie

This is what I got when I emailed a couple of years ago (sept 2003). I bought a case at that time and still have a lot of it so I haven't had to check back.
[i]We are a small company and only manufacture Asian style sauces in our facility. No other or anyone elses products are made there. We are strictly kosher/parve (totally vegetarian) so there are certainly no shellfish (or any other kind of fish) involved. The only oils we use are olive and sesame. Absolutely no nut products are used. All ingredients are certified natural with no preservatives, artificial coloring, MSG, or artificial flavors. Only danger is that they are addictively delicious.

What do you all think about things like this in general? The manufacturer doesn't use peanuts/nuts in their product, so it should be safe, but sesame oil is an ingredient. I've never been able to find a safe sesame oil, and I've been looking for a few years. If I can't find a safe sesame oil (safe meaning not produced on the same lines as nutty stuff or preferrably not made in a facility with nuts), can I assume that the sesame oil used in Chef Myron's products (or any other manufacturer, for that matter) is not cross-contaminated? And should I even be worrying about this issue?

I didn't see any products with tree nuts on their site, but you might want to check. The owner seems pretty friendly.
As for sesame oil being used as an ingredient, that is a good question that I've never thought about, and would be another good question for this company and others.
