fyi....moonpies are safe....this was the reply i got from them:

"Allison, we do not use peanuts or nut meats of any kind in MoonPies and we
use no dairy or egg products. (The artificial ingredients do not contain
dairy or nut meats). We use soy lecithin. Our plant is dedicated to
producing only MoonPies, therefore, there is no possibility of cross
contamination.

Thank you for your interest in MoonPies. Please let us know if you have
further questions.

Thanks for the info about MoonPies. We bought them this week and my son loves them! It's nice to have some choices. Of course I have been indulging too! LOL

Thanks *so* much for the info on this product! Who would have guessed it would be peanut-safe??? I had looked around at the major grocery stores in Northern Virginia & couldn't find it, so I figured it was only regionally distributed or something, but I was at Food Lion (which I usually don't go to because it is a bit farther away but I was shopping for a Girl Scout overnight &,on our budget, every penny counts so I made the trip) & there they were! Very exciting. I will save them for some special time...
Thanks again.

Moonpies are a snack item... chocolate covered, marshmallow filled, some kind of cookie or cake wafer... I found them over by the cookies at Food Lion, but the are the same size as the Little Debbie/Hostess kind of snack items.
I actually don't care for them at all but my kids seem to like them & they are a convenient sort of thing to have around, so I am delighted to have located them.
