Any chance you want to be a travelling non-pa mom and go to all the schools where parents are battling?

I have been thinking about that, and while I cant go to every school... a letter from me can. I typed this up and I may make changes, but if anyone wants it email me and I will attach it. It was typed on MS Word so if you dont have that program I will copy and paste it into the body of the email. but here is what it says...

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am writing this letter to you because your school has decided to implement a ban on peanuts, tree nuts, and/or other foods that have been associated with life-threatening allergies, and I know the initial reaction you may have regarding such a ban.

I am the mother of a little girl who started school this year. About two weeks before school started I read in a local newspaper that the school she will be attending has decided to put such a ban into effect.

My first reaction was one of shock, but it quickly turned into complete ANGER! I couldn

Lisa,
Do you have to go and make me all teary eyed again?!?!
I think your letter is a great idea and it's really well written. I'll have it ready when I begin my battle (in another year if I decide to send my son...) But I digress.
THANKS for drafting the letter!!!!
Now, if you could tell me how to survive the next year with my twins....LOL

Lisa, Thank you so very much, you brought tears to my eyes! It feels so wonderful to have this much support from a non-PA parent.
I will be printing your letter off so I can have it just in case. We start our dealings with the school this year to prepare them for dd next fall. And will be asking for a full peanut/tree nut ban.
Thanks again for the support. You truely are a wonderful person.

I printed the letter out and checked it for spelling, grammer and punctuation. I fixed everything but instead of reposting the whole thing, I edited my original post.

Just in case you didn't notice, in the "Its not easy" line, that should be It's.
Spellcheckers don't catch that sort of thing too easily.

You must have looked at it before I checked for errors, because it is fixed in there now, but thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will recheck everything again just to be on the safe side.

Lisa, that is awesome. Now I have to go and look for Sue's letter. You know the local papers might print it because of your origional letters to them.....
We need to get you on the school board.

Lisa,
We've been kicking around the idea of compiling all of your posts to date, and using them as a reference guide. What better way to learn to help others understand our views. If you don't mind, We would like to e-mail you for a copy of your letter in Word.
We would like to provide it to our Superintendent (Very nice man). We are in the process of setting up a Food Allergy Advisory Committee in our school system. Along with other materials, your Letter and the articles about the fight you helped win, will help strengthen our position.
Thank you,
Brian and Cindy
