pCan anyone recommend a safe microwave popcorn that they have used? I have read that Healthy Choice is Not safe, but are the others? I'm thinking Orville Redenbacher or Pop Secret? I have not yet fed any to my child and she is going to a movie-night at a friends house tomorrow and I won't be there! A first! I just want to double-check everything. Thank you./p

We have eaten PopSecret many times with no problems. As always, I read the label even if we've purchased it 100 times. Things change, as we have seen, but I believe this is made by General Mills or Betty Crocker which is an "allergy aware" company.
I've been using Orville Reddenbacher. It does have butter & soybean oil, but it is yummy (especially the movie theater style).

Thank you all for the info. She ate Orville Redenbacher and it all went well. I almost never leave her and the thought of her also trying a new food at that time was unnerving. But all is fine and I even enjoyed a real date with my husband!
We've used Newman's with no problem, but I've started popping my own - less hydrogenated oil, and all that other stuff.

I recently emailed Healthy Choice about having peanut oil in their natural flavorings. They assured me that they have stopped doing this due to so many complaints. I would recommend contacting them yourself to double check and to be sure that you get the same response. They are a Conagra Company.
PattyR - well, it looks like Healthy Choice is giving different answers to different people. Here is something "Going Nuts" posted in the Take Action "ConAgra" thread:

I spoke to a representative from Healthy Choice today who confirmed that Healthy Choice Microwave Popcorn contains "small amounts" of peanut and egg protein under the heading of "natural flavors".

I, too, thought the Healthy Choice issue was resolved - what a disappointment.
I can't believe that! Luckily we haven't had Healthy Choice and you better believe that we won't. Hopefully the new legislation that regulates the contents of natural flavors will get into place soon!

Hi, my 10 yr. old eats Act11 popcorn. He like the butter flavor. We've bought it from Walmart for years, with no problems. Hope this helps,rj.
