medic alert braclets and surgery

I was wondering if anyone could help answer this question. I posted my daughter is having surgery monday, but now I need to know if the doctors remove her medic alert braclet or if she can keep it on. If it comes off I will not be happy since it is an ordeal sometimes to tellher she can not take it off and this could ruin that. Even though it may be necessary. Any one else have any ideas?

When I was a theatre nurse we never removed them, patients were required to have them on, but they were taped to the wrist.

When my PA son when to surgery, they left his bracelet on and just taped it to his arm. That is the standard practice around here. Hope it works for you. Good luck. Kristi
