We had some good discussions about Halloween candy and whether to allow children to collect candies during trick-or-treating or not. How did everyone do? I was at a couple of small Halloween parties over the weekend and there were bowls of candies everywhere. I stayed away from all of them. I didn't go near anything or anyone holding open and eating the candy. But I did pretty well for myself overall. I gave out some nut free chocolates and candies with friends on Halloween night but I noticed that there were several kids that wouldn't take anything. I wanted to ask them why they were avoiding the candies but it was unspoken, I'm pretty sure it's because they had allergies. They were still so happy and excited to be out with friends trick-or-treating which made me happy.

Halloween was fun and easy. Small group of us at my house with only nut-free treats and candies, so I was able to relax and enjoy. We had a lot of trick-or-treaters and I know a few kids on my block that have peanut allergies so they know I'm the safe stop. They know that I only give out peanut-free candies.
That's good to hear. Always feel good when I get through Halloween unscathed ;-)
