A prison guard ate a chocolate candy, less than an hour later he felt ill, was taken to the hospital, and died. In another article I read that a prison spokesman said they're waiting for an autopsy report to see if he had an allergic reaction to chocolate. I'm wondering if it had nuts. Has anyone heard about this?

I live in NYC. It was reported in the Daily News this week that the man did indeed die of an allergic reaction to peanuts in a candy bar. Here is an abstract I got from their archives:
Abstract:
An autopsy on Richard Sobrino - who suffered from "acute and chronic" asthma - found he died Jan. 19 at Elmhurst Hospital of "hypersensitivity/allergic reaction"...

If anyone ever reads what type of candy bar caused the reaction, I would like to know. It makes me wonder if he knew about his allergy, or if the candy bar was cross contaminated.
Thanks for the follow up, Rob. I had been wondering if they figured out what caused it.

Thanks again Rob C for the follow up. I forgot about this. Here's the link from the NY Times:

If this link doesn't work I've copied the article as well. I could post it too; it's short.

Diane - Your link is still good as of this posting, but I'll paste it in anyway:
