Hi guys,

I'm really curious as to what the best alternative out there is and if it's as good as peanut butter itself. I'm sure this has been talked about at some point, so I'm sorry in advance! I actually don't have an allergy myself, but so many of my friends do, which is why I am curious.

Barney Butter! It's peanut free almond butter & it's the most delicious alternative we've found! Pricier but I'd you order from Amazon you can get a subscribe & save discount...

Sunbutter is a tasty alternative that is totally peanut and treenut free. It's a little pricy so the perfect alternative is Trader Joes Sunflower Seed Butter. It's really good. Both taste more like a natural peanut butter than a Jiffy. The bright side, it's healthier. And once you start using it, you will get addicted and you won't want regular pb.

I have a peanut allergy. And I've tried sunbutter, which tastes like sunflower seeds because that's what it's made of. But then I tried the prouduct Wowbutter and I really liked it and I asked my friend to try it and she said that it was really accurate to taste like peanut butter and have the same texture as peanut butter. So I would recommend Wowbutter

There are several options available.
WOWButter and I.M. Healthy both make good products that are based on soybeans. You can taste the difference, but it is subtle.
There are a couple brands of sunflower butter, but these really taste more like sunflower than peanut. Not that this is bad, but just be aware if you're cooking with them. And note that some get a greenish tint when cooked.
Lotus makes a wheat based "Biscuit Spread." IMHO, it's much sweeter than peanut butter, but it depends on what you are looking for. They got the texture right though.
I can't comment on the other tree-nut butter alternatives, since I have to avoid peanuts and tree nuts.
It's a matter of taste. Since there are now several different options (though not always easy to find beyond the internet), "the best" is going to be very subjective.
