Pasta eaters beware! There's an extremely informative article on lupine (a legume) flour that can trigger allergic reactions in individuals afflicted with peanut allergy. Lupine flour is apparently used in certain pastas. Check out the link:

I came across that same website about 2 weeks after my son was diagnosed. I love reading it every once in awhile. It is very thorough and informative. I assume it has to be listed as an ingredient? I have never heard of Lupine before ... even in my cookbook that lists all the Legumes.

(edited)- thanks for the lupine/lupini bean warning! I thought the stuff was only used as a flour. I wasn't aware that there were beans that were a food item themselves. Another thing to be on the lookout for!

(edited)- what products in the U.S., if any, have you found to contain lupine or lupine flour? I checked all the macaroni/pasta I have in the house and they all say duram wheat I think. Are there some products you know we should avoid?
