Hi...my DD has been diagnosed with a severe PA/TNA, as well as allergies to egg, soy, dust mites and dogs. I am desperately trying to find a support group on Long Island for PA children and/or their parents. Please post or contact me if anyone has any info. This site has been a godsend!!!!

Hi lovemygirls,

I am on Long island too. I don't know of one. Wish I did.

I'm in Centereach.

Do you need a support group because you have problems with your school. Your from Sayville. They are excellent no? I thought they were nut-free or extremists in the precautions they take, correct?

This is a great website. Actually I don't know how I didn't know. I've been alone with my daughters allergy (P & treenut) almost 4 years now.

Did you just find out?

Stay safe, Galette

Hello to both of you Long Islanders,

I did a search under "long Island" and found both of your posts. We will be vacationing in the East End of Long Island (Montauk to be exact) in a few weeks and are looking for some "safe" dining alternatives for our PA/TN allergic son. Do either of you have any recommendations at all? I would appreciate any help you could give me. I'm in Albany, NY and I've been trying to do some research but no luck yet.

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Laurajean,

I'm so sorry that I can't be more helpful, since I haven't been to Montauk in about 13 years (before PA was a part of my life). I don't know if these places are still around, but Gosman's Dock and John's Pancake House (for breakfast) were favorites. Also The Lobster Roll (known locally as "Lunch") in Amagansset. Perhaps you can get in touch with them before your trip.

I hope you have a wonderful time - Montauk is really lovely, with lots of great biking, horseback riding and the beach, of course!

BTW, I may be up your way next week, as my nephew actually wants his old fart middle-aged aunt to come with him to his college orientation at SUNY, so I can show him around the area. Is he adorable, or what?

Hi all. My name is Debbie and I just came across this thread. Wished I saw it earlier.

I am a mom of a severely PA/TNA, FA and Latex and many more allergy 6 yr. old. We are in the Ronkonkoma area and I am at this time going over with the school nurse to set up a support group. I hope to succeed but only time will tell. Email me if you have questions or just need to talk. Laydengochan@hotmail.com
