a lot of times when I walk out the door, I forget to grab my medication. are there any things that could help me remember them before I walk out the door?

Yes! DD had the same problem. Tie a red ribbon around the doorknob. If it is still warm where you are and door is open, tie one around the screen door handle as well.
If that doesn't work paint a rock bright red and, if you can, put it on your walk-way (out of tripping zone, obvioulsy).

Our HS daughter keeps emergency meds in her purse.
Last year's looked more like a kit bag you'd take on a safari - but that was fun in its own way! Ready for adventure and a pocket for everything!
Thanks to Auvi-q, that purse just got smaller and eco-cuter! This year's is a tiny, canvas, embroidered purse from Zappos. We are pretty frugal (school shopping at Old Navy) but for something so important we splurge.
Having the meds in a fun package makes it easier to remember. It is your fashion statement, your signature piece: Queen Elizabeth's hat, Captain America's shield, your epi bag. Celebrate it!
Yes, she should remember it.
Yes she has forgotten it.
And friends have dug up our hidden key braving spiders and creepy crawlies, introduced themselves to my big dog and braved DD's room [why was it on the chair and not on the door knob???] to bring it to her in extremis when she left it behind on away tournament days. She was lucky they left home later than we did - and big dawg recognizes friend from foe!
