when i wake up every morning my lip is swollen and my neck and stomach are itchy. some times it goes down with Zyrtec and other times it stays all day which eventually my lip gets bigger and my tongue starts to swell. we are not sure whatv this is from it might be an allergy to another food besides PA, but i'm keeping a diary and going to the allergist tommorow. My doctor doesn't want to skin test me right now because i'm sucsept able and reaing to everything at the moment. but i'm scared that if im not tested it might get out of hand and ill need to use my epi pen. what can i do? Are there any other things which may be causing this that i don't know about?

kniver84, welcome! If you don't mind my asking, how old are you? I don't understand why your doctor won't allergy test you when you're obviously reacting to SOMETHING. Even if it seems like you're reacting to EVERYTHING, allergy testing would confirm what you're reacting to.
Also, from the sounds of what you are describing, you are almost bordering on anaphylactic reactions (IMHO).
I definitely feel you need to have an Epi-pen and get this sorted NOW.
Yes, of course, it is possible that you aren't PA, but you can also be anaphylactic or have allergic reactions to any food. You need to be prepared. You aren't right now, simply because you don't have the very much needed Epi-pen.
Please let us know what happens with your appointment.
Best wishes!

DEAR CINDY SPOWART COOK,
FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESPONDING TO MY QUESTION. I'M NOT SURE IF I MADE MYSELF CLEAR, I'M SORRY. I'M ALLERGIC TO PEANUTS AND MAYBE ANOTHER FOOD. I DO HAVE AN EPI-PEN WHICH I TAKE EVERYWHERE,AND I HAVE HAD AN ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION AND WOUND UP IN THE HOSPITAL. MY DOCTOR WOULDN'T SKIN TEST ME CUZ SINCE I HAD SO MANY REACTIONS SHE DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD TRULY BE A CORRECT ANSWER SINCE SHE FELT I STILL HAD HISTAMINE IN MY SYSTEM.ALSO SHE THOUGHT THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN ONE OF MY MEDICINES. SINCE MY APPOINTMENT MY ALLERGIST PUT ME ON A BASIC FOOD DIET IN WHICH I ADD 3 NEW FOODS EVERY 3 DAYS. SINCE I BEGAN MY ALLERGIES HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD . NO SWELLING, HIVES, BIG LIP, OR WELTS WHICH IS GOOD, BUT SHE HASN'T ADDED ANY COMPLEX FOODS OR SPICES WHICH I FEEL MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM. THIS COMING UP MONDAY I'M GOING BACK TO HER SO I'LL TRY TO WRITE BACK WHNE I HEAR WHAT SHE SAYS.
THANKS AGAIN

I think if you are suspicious at all of any type of reaction and you are not receiving an immediate response from your doctor, then you should call an ambulance. I don't know if any of us would say to give the epi or not since we don't know if it would affect anything else she has taken. jumt my opinion. I think only a dr can answer your questions.

Wow. I'm sorry. Do you think that one of her allergens crept into her system via the blood transfusion?
I would second getting medical advice on this. Your kiddo has been through enough to have a reaction on top of this, too. But the swollen lips would really concern me.
I hope she improves. (((hugs)))

You've probably already taken care of the problem...but I wanted to say, call 911 when you are unsure if a reaction will become *life threatening*(do this rather then posting!!). My 4yr old started screaming and crying his neck was squeezing and it hurt(while at Target...and we had eaten nothing!)...he'd never had a serious reaction, so I kind of froze as to use the Epi or not. We went ahead and called 911....since I was unsure and scared, Target called 911 and got the paramedics, fire truck and police there. (I did give Benadryl, that is my first action with *any* reaction)....they got there and watched him for 10 min and the Benadryl was kicking in(his neck stopped squeezing, the spots around his mouth started fading as well as the red streaks across his cheeks. They advised me that since he was improving(breath sounds sounded great) that I could sign off and take him myself(so no charge for the ambulance since it wasn't used). So I guess the point of my post is, when in doubt...just call 911(my allergist even adviced this) and let them assess the situation. I am glad I did in that situation, I just was so unsure of what was going on... HUGS
ps hope all is okay
