Gerber Baby Food doesn't have any reference to allergens on its labels. When emailed for the info, the company couldn't even give the courtesy a real reply!:

Unbelievable! We shouldn't have to do anything more than read a label to find this info, yet after being put through my time being spent on going to the website, looking in all the logical places, finding the contact form, taking more time to fill it out (with some unnecessary info like my address "needed"!), they still won't answer - they want me to take MORE TIME and call them. Here's my response to them:
YOU SHOULD HAVE ANSWERED THE QUESTION NOT ASKED ME TO TAKE EVEN MORE TIME OUT OF MY BUSY SCHEDULE TO MAKE ANOTHER PHONE CALL - DOUBTLESS YOU TO THIS TO PEOPLE IN ORDER TO:

1. DISCOURAGE US FROM "BOTHERING" YOU WITH OUR CHILD'S ALLERGIES

2. TRY TO PUMP US FOR MORE PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT YOU TRY TO CLAIM IS "NECESSARY" WHEN IT IS NOT NEEDED TO ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS - YOU JUST WANT IT FOR MARKETING PURPOSES!

THIS IS NOT COMPLICATED AND SHOULDN'T REQUIRE ANY MORE TIME THAN IS NEEDED TO READ A LABEL - WHERE THE INFORMATION SHOULD BE!!!!!!

WHY ARE YOU NOT INCLUDING THE PRESENCE OF COMMON ALLERGENS ON YOUR LABELS????

WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING???

WHY ARE YOU WASTING TIME AND RISKING PEOPLES LIVES REGARDING POTENTIALLY FATAL FOOD ALLERGIES???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't ordinarily write in all caps, but I think it was warranted here. I think those of us who live with this understand the exasperation, the resentment of having our time wasted (EVERY time a label has said to check their website for the info, it is ALWAYS missing, in my experience!), and the anger at the monumental insensitivity and heartlessness of the people running these companies. In the legal field it's known as "conduct that invites regulation"!
