The "distributed by" ones often have a tree nut allergy warning on them.
The "maufactured by your local Krispy Kreme" have never had a warning that I know of.
My son eats the kruellers, chocolate iced glazed, original glazed, doughnut holes, and raspberry filled with absolutely no problems.
He is allergic to tree nuts and peanuts so we do obviously avoid the "distributed by" packages.

I was shocked to read all these statements about Krispy Kreme being nut-free. I have a 5 year old son with PA but have 4 other children and my other kids favorite krispy kreme donut is key-lime which is frosted and topped with tons of NUTS! I am in Wisconsin, so maybe other areas are different. THey also have different seasonal donuts that I have seen nuts on.

Krispy Kreme doesn't use any nuts on their donuts according to the corporate head office.
I checked the Krispy Kreme web site and it says that the key-lime donut topping is made of graham crackers.

WOW! I'm sorry. I would swear those were nuts! I've even eaten them and thought they were nuts. My mistake. Sorry. I did just check out their website though and they have one with caramel that has a toffee topping. Isn't toffee made with peanuts?

Toffee isn't made with nuts. I agree, though, that the KK topping looks creepily like nuts.

They actually have two or three that look like nuts. And the texture - yes - very nut-like. I've eaten them, with no problem. (I did actually ask one of the people working there - and she said it's a very common question.)

I also live in W-S! We eat KK all the time from the first ever shop, on Stratford Rd in W-S.

Actually, toffee can be made with pecans. However, the Krispy Kreme ones are not.

If you go on the KK website under the category Nutrition, it clearly states that KK doughnuts may contain allergens.
That's enough for me!

Yes, but it doesn't say contains *nuts*. Keep in mind, that eggs, milk and soy are also allergens. If you go further into the Nutrition category, you can get the ingredients for every donut.
My local supermarkets have never carried KK, but when I went to Target last week, they were carrying boxes of KK donuts (in the KK packaging). Next time I stop in, I will pick some up for my son, he'll be so excited!
