We received your e-mail inquiring about Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauces. Although you did not see peanuts as an ingredient in our teriyaki sauces, you were concerned that there may be a chance of cross contamination.

Kikkoman teriyaki and soy sauces that are made at Kikkoman Foods, Inc. in Walworth, WI do not contain peanuts in them. Therefore, the teriyaki and soy sauces manufactured at this plant would be free of cross contamination. Please check the back of the label to see where the sauce was produced.

We hope you find this information helpful to you as you plan your meal. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

Sincerely, KIKKOMAN INTERNATIONAL INC. Consumer Services

For what it's worth I can vouch for the Kikkoman soy sauce every day with a PA son. I've never used the bottled teriyaki sauce with him but that's because I buy soy sauce by the gallon and make my own with it.

Teriyaki is a rather quick mix. Crush some garlic, microplane some ginger, brown sugar to taste, add all to a lot of soy sauce. My mother used to add ketchup, so you could do that too. Teriyaki sauce can be any way you want it. Want it thicker as a glaze? Gently heat and add a cornstarch & water slurry.

Great to make a big batch of teriyaki sauce (much cheaper too) throw it in a big ziploc with a bunch of chicken wings. Rotate the bag over 24 hours. Broil for crispy skin. Watch it disappear.

Their soy sauce and teriyaki sauce that's made in the US is tree nut free.

It's important to note that their sauces that are imported from Japan are NOT peanut/tree nut free.
