My PA dd has eaten at KFC several times without incident. Does anyone else have information or experiences regarding KFC?

Sorry guys. I did a search and nothing on KFC came up, to my surprise. I did another one, and up it popped. Sorry for starting a new thread, when there was one already.

What is it you eat at KFC? We were told when called it is safe but I am terrified to take my DD anywhere new...so far we only eat at two pizza places, the refried beans at taco bell and mcdonalds.
Thanks

Shelley,
My son is PA and also allergic to sesame. At Taco Bell and KFC my son eats everything except for desserts. We have never had a problem. At Taco Bell he has had tacos, burritos and nachos. At KFC he has had chicken, biscuits, fries, corn. I would feel OK ordering him anything off the menu at these places (except for desserts, we don't order desserts anywhere) but he sticks with his old favorites.
Most of the fast food places have websites that include ingredient/allergy info, and if the info you're looking for isn't posted, there should be an 800 number to call.

My 13 year old DD eats their chicken with no problem. We are in Ontario, so things may be different elsewhere.
We contact KFC a few years ago, but now we just use the same store all the time and the owner/manager has always been the same. They use canola oil.

At KFC my PA dd has eaten the chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, and I think the corn. She loves the above, and so has never ordered anything else. We don't go there too often, maybe once or twice a year.
At Taco Bell she usually gets a kids meal with Tacos. She also eats the chips and cheese that come with it, and has eaten bean burritos on occasion without a problem.
She hasn't had deserts at either place, but the food has been fine. I was just originally wondering if there was something off limits at KFC that I didn't know about.

Like you, we have had KFC a few times as well and have never had an issue. We also stay away from the desserts, but we do this just about everywhere we eat out/order out.

Does anyone know if KFC is safe for persons with tree nut allergy? I am trying to call them, but I could not find the 1-800 number.
Thanks

The number for KFC is 1-800-CALL-KFC. I just spoke with a rep. there. It doesn't appear that they have any peanut products in anything other than desserts. However, if your child has an egg allergy like mine, the original recipe chicken has egg in the breading. The extra crispy does not, but she could not confirm if they were fried in the same fryer (I'm assuming yes) and said I would need to ask the store (of course I would).
The thing that bothered me was when I questioned her about their biscuits. There website states that they do not contain egg. However, she checked the ingredients and confirmed that they DO contain egg. This just makes me question the accuracy of their website information.
Yet another reason we have to always ask at each restaurant. I know I should have mentioned the discrepancy, but I was just so frustrated that I was ready to get off the phone.

We've had no problems with KFC for our pa/tna nine year old.
That's too bad that the info. about the biscuits is contradictory. How frustrating!

This is the reply I got from KFC:
Thank you for contacting us regarding KFC product information. We have
contacted our Research and Development Department concerning the use of
nuts/peanuts in our products. The pecan pie slice does contain nuts and
individual items on the buffet may contain nuts. Please check with the
manager of the restaurant regarding the buffet items since these items can
vary.
Additionally, based on information from our approved suppliers, nuts are
not used in our flour or shortening, which consists of partially
hydrogenated soybean oil.
We thank you for your interest in KFC and hope this information is
helpful.
Sincerely,
Patricia Carnes
