Some people with soy allergy can have soybean oil, soy lecithin, and soy derived vitamin E, among other derivatives. Some of us, including myself, cannot.
If I eat soy lecithin, my reaction includes hives, lip itching, and then a bonus prize of eczema. It's not as severe a reaction as I get from, say, tofu or edamame, but it's certainly enough to keep me away. Everyone is different, however, and YMMV.

That's depressing, I was hoping they'd be safe for us but the lecithin counts us out. Guess I can quit looking for them now.
