Hi. I'm 16. i'm allergic to peaunts, tree nuts, macadamian nuts, almonds, cashews, you name any nuts and i'm allergic to them lol. I've never had to use an epi-pin, but i did carry one up until recantly when my allergy dr told me that one isn't enough, so i have the twin-ject one now.
When i was 4, i ate half of a cashew and almost immediatly had a reation to it. My parents gave me benadryl then took me to my dr. They tested to see how allergic i was (the reaction wasn't bad since it was such a small amount) and for me it's deadly, my throat will close and i'll go into shock. So ever since then i have avoided it. I've never had a full blown reaction since then, but i did get re-tested many times and it still comes back as extreamly allergic. i don't know how i've done it, avoiding it all and everything. I'm not bothered by nuts if they're nearby, but if i can smell it or am sitting by someone with it for a while i can start to feel my throat get tight, so i have to move or use my inhaler. But it's not so bad, i mean, it's not like i just found out i was allergic and had to give everything up lol. so that's a good thing.
in a few weeks i am leaving to go on a spring break school band trip to new york, and i am going to be without my parents so i have to carry my own medicine just incase. is there anything i should watch out for while in new york?
