...parents who pull their children out of school because a 504 plan is not being implemented or followed are brought up before the district magistrate for missing X number of school days without an excuse of illness from a doctor. Does anyone else have a policy like that at school? Our school does and it makes me wonder.

A couple of years ago, a neighbor of mine was told by school officials that if her child (3rd grader I believe) missed any more days of school, she would be brought up on charges before the district magistrate. I think our district policy is no more than 15 days per year without a legitimate doctor's excuse.

So I'm wondering what would happen if, you know, someone pulled their child out because of 504 violations. Would the school push the attendance issue? What would happen? Any comments or experiences with attendance policies anyone?
