pHi everyone,/p
pI know I haven't been on the boards much but, I felt everyone should know that yesterday, I took my son to see Dr. Sampson. I felt such a sense of relief after leaving his office. He made a lot of things clear for my son myself. /p
pThe appt. was 2 1/2 hours long it felt like 10 minutes. He was able to explain a lot of unanswered questions. First of all he explained that Rast testing is not accurate. Bobby had flags on tree nuts/peanuts with his RAST testing. He took blood from Bobby he will be measuring the level of the IGE Antibody to determine his sensitivity to tree nuts/peanuts. If the level is low then he can challenge him. He also explained that 35 percent of people that are allergic to peanuts are also allergic to tree nuts. It is only recently that they are finding this out. Also, only (I believe)he stated that 2 percent of these PA suffers are also allergic to other legumes./p
pHe also does have testing going on with children that are 12 over with the IGE Antibody to reduce the reaction of a peanut allergy attack. What he explained was that he administers the antibody it will give a lesser reaction to a PA sufferer if they were to ingest peanuts by accident. It is not a cure but, he is working on that also (I beleive that is what he stated), at that point I was so excited that he was giving me positive information./p
pI figure if I put my son out there with him if one day he does help all these PA sufferers Bobby will be in that realm to be helped./p
pI loved him would highly suggest him to anyone. I was extremly overwhelmed with all his information I hope that I understood everything he was telling my husband myself./p
pPSbr /
Bobby loved him also. All the scratch test blood work did not even hurt him./p

I am in NJ & Dr. Sampson is in the city(approx. 2 hours from me). I heard of Dr. Sampson from my pediatrician along with these boards. He was the Dr. who was just on MSNBC talking about peanut allergies.
