I have a dream...

For school, my 8 yr old son's 2nd grade class did this for MLK day. He wrote " I have a dream that scientists could make a medicine for peanut allergies so us kids wouldn't have peanut allergies anymore." Cute, and makes me sad at the same time.

I have the same dream! That is cute and I agree it does make you sad.

What a nice dream that is!

My daughter had the same dream for her MLK project. But at 6 years old she didn't quite word it so eloquently. I'm sure with so many people dreaming it, we will someday be living it.

That is so sweet but so sad at the same time! Tell your son his wish may be coming true. Dr. Hugh Sampson, with the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York is in the process of trying to develop a vaccine for people with PA's. I heard him speak on CNN several months ago. The people with PA's still will not be able to consume peanut butter products, however, when they unknowingly come into contact with some form of peanut butter products they will have a decreased chance from going into anaphylactic shock. Which is always a good thing. So, tell your son it might not happen today, but we are all hoping and praying that Dr. Hugh Sampson (the Scientist) will be able to come up with a vaccine to help every single person with PA's too!

You are right about it being cute, and at the same time sad. You must have given him a big hug -- that was my first inclination.
