I am curious to know how many kids have never had a contact reaction. I would say my 6 year old dd has never had one. I am sure she must have come into contact with it somewhere in the last 5 years.

my ds (4) has never had one. He has bit & spit without swollowing.(sp?, for some reason the spelling of this looks wrong like when you suddenly forget how to spell "the")
So far we have had no trouble with contact & I hope it stays that way too!!

My DS is 19 and has not had a contact reaction that I know of. As an infant he used to get one big hive on his wrist while I nursed him and in retrospect that might have been a reaction but he has never had a contact reaction since then.

It is encouraging to see that some adults with PA have never had a contact reaction. I would find it hard to believe that an adult has never come into contact with peanut residue because it's everywhere.

I am 51 and had not had one until about a month ago. I picked up a co-worker's pen and my hand immediately started itching where my hand had touched the pen.
I went straight to the bathroom and washed a lot with soap and water and it was OK.
I am not sure if it was peanut...also allergic to a number of medicines.

My PA son had a contact reaction at the supermarket. He was in the shopping cart for about 5 minutes and he swelled up like a balloon. I gave him Benedryl and the store employee called 911. We took him straight to the ER where he was watched for 4 hours. He did not need epi pen, but in hindsight, if it happens again, I would give it to him.
