pI've been through a couple popcorn makers and am just back to my trusty old method of using a big saucepan with a lid on the stove with some oil (olive or corn) on the bottom with a nice layer of popcorn. The kids just love it this way./p
pFor the toppers, we just sprinkle salt, or as a special treat, melted butter. /p
pDoes anyone have a cheesey topping that they can recommend? One that hasn't caused a PA person any problems? I was always a sucker for that cheesey popcorn they sell at the grocery stores. It doesn't matter if it's white or yellow...mmmmmm! I would just like to replicate that cheesey popcorn of days gone by at home before PA. /p
pHow about store-bought popcorn in the grocery store snack aisle too. Can anyone recommend a brand or two for PA people. I'm looking to expand my son's "list" for school./p
pAny help would be greatly appreciated./p

I use Betty Crocker PopSecret popcorn. Here in the U.S.,Betty Crocker labels their products well and I trust their brands.

What about Annie's Naturals bulk cheese powder?
I know there's a thread floating around somewhere about their products...and last I looked, they sell the cheese powder in bulk packets.
I'm pretty sure it's the white cheddar -- I think the other kind is colored with annatto, which some folks may choose to avoid.
Sorry this is a bit vague -- but I wanted to reply, as I was just thinking that cheese popcorn would be a good (and half-way good for us) snack!
