How can we get large manufacturers to commit to being \peanut free\?

pIs any one else out there finding it increasingly frustrating going grocery shopping? It seems as though almost everything now has a listing "may contain traces of nuts" even though they did not previously.br /
I know that companies are just trying to protect themseleves, but isn't there any large cereal or cookie manufacturer who is willing to guarantee "peanut free" products?br /
I hate seeing my daughter's disappointed face when she picks up a bag of cookies which she has eaten before, and I have to tell her we can't buy them because they say "may contain traces of nuts". Chances are they don't, but I can't risk taking the chance.br /
There are enough people who have this life threatening allergy to warrant a company as large as Christie's to allocate a section of their plant which can be peanut free./p
