My mom has been home-schooling me and my younger non-allergic sister, for about 4 years now, partially because of my PA, but also because we felt that Private School just wasn't working for us. I love being home-schooled, and I think that it is a great way to keep PA kids safe. I feel much safer being home with my mom all day.

My daughter is only 15 months old, but I plan to homeschool her. I decided this for educational and personal reasons long before she reacted to peanuts. But now with the peanut allergy looming over her head, I am even more convinced that homeschooling will be the best choice.

Well, I just had to reply to this. Everyone
who "knows" me here probably knows that we
homeschool too. We have homeschooled since
the kids were born. We decided on it 7
years before our oldest was born. My kids
are not 8 and 5 and we will be starting 3rd
and kindergarten in two weeks. My youngest
is the one with the severe PA and egg
allergy. We absolutely **love**
homeschooling!! I would never have it any
other way.! I am so happy to be with my kids
everyday. I would miss them terribly if they
were gone every day and I would miss out on
them learning. If any are thinking about it
don't hesitate. I can't rave enough about
it!!

We are in a home-school group that has field trips, parties, park days, and even sports! We can play homeschool: soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, bowling and also we can go to horse camp and some other things, too. So we can be having school safe at home, and also get the social interaction we might get at school. Home-schooling is much more educational, and safer for PA kids! I would never want to go to school out of home again (I used to go to Private school)!

I just noticed this thread, late. I am homeschooling my almost 5 year old daughter. I started exploring HS over a year ago due in part to PA. The more I learned about HS the more I felt it was a great choice for our family. The PA is only one of MANY reasons. Since I'm a HS beginner I'd love to hear from you, ihatepeanuts,or any others for moral support, etc. thx. e-mail is btysher@aol.com
