Hello everyone,

My dh is smoking some fish and I just went out there to discover a bag of Hickory flavored wood chips he is using to smoke them. I know Hickory is a tree nut, but I am wondering if the wood chips would be ok? Too late to call them. I imagine if it was from the tree bark, it would be protein-free, but if they are flavored with the hickory nut, it would not be safe. Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks.
