Hi,

I'm a 14 year old peanut allergy sufferer living in South Africa. I am also allergic to latex, soya, tomatoes, bananas, numerous other nuts, egg-white, wheat, avocado, peas, beans, citrus, pollen, dust-mites and more.

I have only experienced one 'serious' occurance of anaphylactic shock, which happened when I was a young child. I have an IGE count of (I think) 3000 and a PA of 6. The professor whom I consult has assured me that the allergy will not weaken over time and will probably get worse.

I hope to become a regular poster in this forum and will hopefully be able to contribute to the community. I would also like to know if thre are any other, similarly aged PA sufferers with whom I might be able to converse, as few of my friends can understand the reality of my condition.

Shane

Hello Shane,
Welcome to the boards! I am an adult with PA but there are many parents of PA children here, including a few teens. Your experiences of living with PA will help the parents of little kids just learning to live with it, so I hope you post often!
Welcome!

Welcome! I hope you find your time here useful--so many of us have.
In addition to this site, a new site has been started specifically for teenagers. I don't have the url handy, but it's a recent post. I think the site is called "Anaphylactic Teens" or something like that.
