At age 9, he's a sacrificial lamb. Tomorrow, inspite of all the compensatory forms, compulsory, meetings, and posturing, I send him alone. Empowered is a spectrum issue.

Now, I'm empowered. I have a choice. There, he won't. Dead children are not empowered, they are dead.

Hey, maybe tomorrow I'll feel differently, right now, this is how I feel.

I'm so sorry that you are having to go through all this. I know it's easy for me to say that not all schools are like your experiences. The school I work for had a meeting today and radically changed some things in order to make it safe for a child. All participants were actually excited to change "the way things have always been done" to help. It really did my heart good being involved in this meeting as the mother of a child with severe PA (not to mention one who is SCARED TO DEATH for him to start school in 2 years.)
But I also know that this doesn't change a thing for you or your cubs. I so hope for things to get better for you all. You have been through so much.
Much caring and support,
Mistey

Mommabear, things will be ok. Take a huge Deep breath and cry later. I never let my babies see me cry. It is the key to them always trusting and coming to us. If Chris ever saw me cry I don't think he would tell me all of the things he tells me.
I do have a fear and that is the new school nurse this year. Chris has had the same school nurse since Grade K. She is amazing and has a lot of common sence. DO I let him know my fears of a new nurse. NO never.
On the first day of school WIll i have tears. As a senior I know he will have a great year but YES the dreaded phone calls I know I could get frighten me so bad.
But then there is my DD that is 13 and I will watch her grow up so much this year. We have a really special relationship right now. We are past the little girl stage. I will send her off just hoping her feelings never get hurt.
Then the first grader I will send off hoping he is always safe and always happy. Just hoping no children take his glasses and call him four eyes. Yes that did happen.
So beyond the allergy we as moms do have alot of things to think of.
I will just pray that Chris doesn't sit at a desk a person whom ate Pb just left.
I will also pray that your children have a safe year.
I trust in my religion and just hope he helps me out again.
Even Chris will now say to me MOM "remember god only gives us as much as we can handle". I do believe this but sometimes he pushes me to wonder.
God bless all of these children and let them have a very safe school year.
Claire
