thank you! I added your list to the others I've gotten from this site. I didn't know about the sunmaid chocolate covered raisins. I'll have to search for those-I miss eating raisinets.

Thank you! I'm terrified of Halloween. My DS was diagnosed with a trip to ER last year on 10/31. I was afraind I was going to be the house with the lousy candy!

Are you sure about the See's candies? I have moved back East, so don't See's anymore, but I know a few years ago I was told none of their prodeucts were safe. Maybe it has changed since then?

Thanks for this great list! This will be my 1st Halloween knowing about PA, so this'll make it much easier.

I'll have to check out the Kit Kat Bites. I really miss Kit Kat Bars. I don't think I've seen these here. Has anyone seen these at Wal-mart???

Is this list U.S. specific? If it is it will help me a lot to prepare for Halloween...

Thanks!

Thank you soo much!! This is really helpful for my daughters first halloween!!

Please, everyone, check these items on the list for yourselves!!! I would not want anything to happen to your kids! Things do change and so please, please, do not take my word for it!!!

On the See's- it's best to check again, as I will too. But this is what I was told twice. But let's check again.

And to answer the other question, it is US specific. I try to stay away from imported stuff since I am not familiar with their policies.

Gale, and everyone, I just saw the Sunmaid chocolate covered raisins(first time ever, but saw it here and was so excited to see them).

Sadly, they have warnings for peanuts and tree nuts in the manufacturing facility or euqipment(forget which exactly but any warning nixes it for us).

Thanks for sharing!!! Unfortunately for us we have to cross out the egg, egg albumin, & strawberry ones.

But still a cool list!

Thanks so much. My son is only 13 months old but and our first Halloween and this helps with the other kids.

Also can you sort candy and it the "good" even it has been in the same pumpkin as the "bad" candy?

On Oct 5, 2005

Let me reask my question because it did not make sence.

Can you eat the "good" candy even if it has been in the same bag as the "bad" candy if you sort it as soon as you get it?

Thanks Suzette

becca,

Thanks for the warning on the chocolate raisins. I have been buying them here in California for awhile and they have no warnings and I have called as well recently and they do label for cross-contamination. Maybe you are in a different part of the country where they are coming from a different factory. Where I buy them, they are safe. I always check the labels in case things have changed though. Thanks. If they are coming from a safe factory, I can send you some "safe" ones if you want!

Suzette-

I bet a lot of people do, however we don't. My daughter trick or treats with her friends and then they come home and they sort of hold an auction (with no money involved of course) to get all her candy. Last year she got her friend to walk the dog and carry her books (for 1 day) for all her peanut butter cups!

Once she has passed out all her candy we give her the safe stuff we have bought for her. This year she is going to be very surprised as I bought her candy corn and m&m's from Vermont Nut Free Candy!

How about those Kit-kat bites???? I did find these at Wal-Mart and they are Hershey, but it seems too good to be true! KWIM???

On Oct 6, 2005

Michele, I am on the opposite coast entirely, about as far away as we can get, LOL> So, maybe it is regional, or related to the packaging facility. These were treat size packs handy for Halloween, and I have never seen them before this. becca

My son always eats the "good" (safe) candy, even though he has carried it around all night with the "bad" (unsafe) candy. I don't see any problem since they are both packaged.

I know what you mean. I found them at walgreens last night and bought some, but am afraid to give them to my dd.

Thanks Becca. I only found sunmaid yogurt covered raisins so far and they also have a peanut warning on it. Maybe I'll try to make my own choc. covered raisins. lol. It'll be worth it if only to gross out my dh.

I let my DD eat the "safe" stuff even if it has been in the bag with the unsafe stuff. It's all in wrappers, so the likelihood of contamination is so slim (plus we tend to just say "no thanks" at houses when we can see they are giving out only unsafe things) that it's a risk we're willing to take.

My dds eat them all the time. We get them at Wal-Mart. They are loose in a bag - a little bigger than snack size. Rachel

Edited to ask about the smarties (US). I thought the label on those had changed. Anyone?
