Hi, my name is Sharon and I am new to this board.

My 4-year old daughter is severely allergic to peanuts. I am so terrified on a daily basis, especially since she started preschool recently.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you. If anyone has any advice on handling peanut allergy in school please let me know. Thanks!

Welcome! We've all been terrified and all go into terrified mode every now and then. There are great tips here. Spend some time in the school board. I also recommend the Main board and the Manufacturers board. You learn a lot there about what companies label well.

If you don't already have one, make sure you get an EpiPen and have it with you at all times. Many of us carry at least two with us.

Again--welcome. We look forward to getting to know you.

I just wanted to say hi and welcome. I'm fairly new here too, my daughter is going to be 14 next week and we found out about her PA when she was 1 year old. She is so allergic that she reacts to the peanut oil in the air.

However she has gone to pre-school and public school for all but 2 years (I homeschooled her so we could travel) and yes there have been some issues but we've been able to work with our school board on those and so far so good.

Best, Susan
