pI had a reaction to Haagen Dazs, so I did some investigating. Neither they nor any of their affiliates label with cross-contamination warnings. The following companies are unsafe:/p
pHaagen Dazsbr /
Pilsburybr /
Progressobr /
Old El Pasobr /
Green Giantbr /
Totino/Gino'sbr /
Nestle Ice Cream/p
pFurthermore, they do not claim to have any records of anaphylactic reactions, but at least one has been posted on this site! If you or your child has reacted, please report it. My reaction was relatively minor (I think cross-contamination was tn not pn), but the next person may not be so lucky./p

I appreciate your bringing this info to our attention, but I have a few questions. What do you mean by saying that these companies are not safe? have you reacted to all? Did you contact them all and do they have dedicated lines but not designated facilities?Progresso? Green Giant? What are they putting nuts into? I am very sorry that you reacted. It is so scary, and I know how difficult it is to be able to trust a company and try to find safe foods! Good Luck!

I have called Haagen Dazs, Progresso, & Pilsbury. Their policy on all product lines is to make flavors as needed, washing belts in between. NO dedicated lines. They acknowledge all their products are at risk for cross-contamination & allergic individuals are at risk, but since they are not required to print a warning by law, they do not.

Hi, I am the one that had a serious reaction to a haagan daz pint. It was a cookies and cream pint and there was a nut in it. Not sure what kind but a tree nut. I have not contacted Haggan daz because I am in the process of filing a suit against them and my lawyer advised against contacting them at this point. What flavor ice cream was your reaction to? Hope to hear from you soon.

Chocolate chocolate chip. I also believe it to be a tree nut of some sort because of the nature of the reaction (my peanut reaction impacts breathing). Good luck! If I can be of any assistance, feel free to e-mail me sillyfeline@yahoo.com

My son broke out in hives after eating homemade chicken nuggets coated in Progresso bread crumbs dipped in Ranch dressing. I have long suspected the bread crumbs. Have you reacted to their products?

No, but Progresso has no dedicated lines. High risk for cross-contamination. You can call them to report it at 1-800-200-9377. I hope he's feeling better. This is so disheartening.

Could your son possibly be allergic to sesame seeds? My son is, and we can't use commercially prepared bread crumbs. Virtually all of them contain sesame seeds, whether or not it says so on the label.

No, he is only PA. I wish I could figure it out, but I guess there was contamination. What do they manufacture with nuts?

Thanks for the heads-up on Progresso. I've made eggplant and zuccini parmesean coated with their breadcrumbs for quite some time. My son didn't really care for it, so it won't be missed terribly. I also gave my son a little of Haagan Daaz ice cream strawberry flavor. He doesn't like ice cream, period, but I'm glad I heard this info anyway.
Thanks again.

My 4 year old had a serious reaction to Haagen-Dazs Vanilla last night. The label did not list peanuts or tree nuts. We were in a hotel and in the middle of a winter storm. Luckily I had an epi-pen but it took the EMTs a good while to get here because of the weather. It was a HORRIBLE experience and I am very upset that this company is so careless.
