Hi, new here, but didn't see this brand listed. We do a lot of shopping at the local Wal-mart superstore, and have always tried to purchase the store brand to save money, but with our discovery of our 14 month-old's allergy I was concerned. I called Wal-Mart (1-800-WALMART) to ask about their Great Value brand. The operator refered my questions to their products department, and Andrew returned my call within 48 hours.

I was told that Wal-mart's had addressed the issue of peanut contamination for peanut allergic customers in the past, and so had adopted a general purchasing policy of purchasing non-peanut items only from suppliers who do not manufacture peanut-containing products. If a product IS purchased from a supplier that uses peanuts in any of its products, it is labelled with the "may contain" warning. He also stated that, since they use many suppliers in various parts of the country, if there was a question about a specific product, we could call and ask that the Product Data (a/k/a MSDS) Sheet for that item be checked to verify where it came from and if there was any chance of contamination.
