I am an adult with a severe peanut allergy in Boston. I just got off the phone with the chef at Sorriso Trattoria in Boston (http://www.sorrisoboston.com/). He was GREAT, saying that they know how serious the allergy is and they do not have any peanuts or peanut oil in the restaurant and don't use nuts in the pesto sauces because of possible cross contamination. I have eaten there in the past, but wanted to confirm their policy since its been awhile. The food is TERRIFIC. If you live in Boston, check it out and mention how great it is that they recognize allergies. We need to support restaurants (and airlines like JetBlue) that "get it".

That is great about them being so allergy aware.
Since, you did mention Jet Blue I had a question??? Are they allergy aware? My dh just returned from a business trip and flew Jet Blue and said they serve peanuts both legs of the flight. And served a lot of may contains no meals though.
Let us know.

JetBlue does not serve peanuts and they are very allergy aware. Look at the Airline thread on this site and you will see lots of wonderful testimonies. They serve cashews, but if you tell them you have an allergy they will not serve them and make an announcement that others on the flight should not eat their nut-containing snacks.

Pesto can be made without nuts. Just combine fresh basil, romano cheese, fresh garlic, and some olive oil in a food processor. It's delicious!
Great on pasta!

I'm on the Cape but we go to Boston all the time (at least twice a month) so I will check the restaurant out. That's great to know! I make pesto without pine nuts all the time and its excellent!
