The Aussie govt has put the Epi-pen on our PBS (pharmaceutical benefit scheme), effective Jan 1st. We could buy the pens over the counter without a script but it cost around $120 (when I last purchased one the pharmacist gave me a discount because I bought 3). Now it will cost about $23.
Good News for Aussies and Epi-pens

Isn't it great news Lisa? We found out when we were in NZ and saw an article lobbying their Government to do the "same as Australia".

Got it.
Dr had to call PBS to get permission to give a discounted script for Epi. He had to give allergist's name and can only do this for a single Epi in a three month period (unless it is used). Kids can get two - one for school and one for home.
So a limited access program but so much nicer paying $23 than $120!
