Just had a bit of a shock today, and hoping to prevent others from experiencing the same...
I recently bought a bag of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate 60% squares at Target, after reading the bag which said "May contain trace amounts of tree nuts and milk" (my son is PA only, and "may contain trace tree nuts" is within our comfort zone). Anyway, my son ate one of these without incident a couple of days ago.
BUT... I was preparing to give him another one a few minutes ago, and just happened to notice that the warning on the individually wrapped square itself said "May contain trace amounts of peanuts, tree nuts and milk"! It had not occurred to me that the bag might disagree with the contents, especially after reading the Ghirardelli had good allergen labeling practices. Needless to say, I'm a bit upset about this, and will be writing to the company as soon as I finish this post.
So... buyer beware! And always check the internal wrappers!

Kabob17 - I'm so glad your son is okay! There was a post a while back about a similar incident (differing labels) with Hershey's Jolly Rancher Creepy Pops. This is a great reminder of why I need to write another letter to the FDA about labeling. The more I read about mislabeling on this forum and others, the more I realize that my first letter to the FDA wasn't enough. Here is the link if anyone is interested in writing (or writing again like me) to the FDA http://www.regulations.gov/fdmspublic/component/main?main=DocumentDetail&o=09000064806b7555
