Today I bought a real fruit slush from a Sonic Fast Food Restaurant located at 827 Canal St., Carlsbad, New Mexico. What was so disgustingly different about this particular strawberry real fruit slush, was that it contained a rather large chunk of peanut butter. Sorry but this is disgusting. At approximately 2:40pm today Saturday September 12, 2009, I purchased 2 Strawberry Real fruit Slush’s upon drink mine I noticed that it had a strange flavor. Eventually I figured out that it kind of tasted like peanuts. I personally do not eat peanuts or peanut butter of any shape or form so the flavor to me is real noticeable. I took off the lid of my rt44 strawberry slush to find some thing out of the ordinary. There was this brownish colored chunk amongst the red color of my strawberries. At first glance I just thought it was a bad berry and it looked very disgusting. Upon closed examination it was found to be a large chunk of peanut butter, I puked.
Here is my position. What if I or someone else who has a allergy to peanuts would have unknowingly ingested this chunk of peanut butter? What if it would have been something else other than peanut butter?
Strawberries are usually kept cold, peanut butter is not. How did they come in contact with each other?
Everything to me points to a dirty restaurant, or careless employees. Either way the Sonic is at fault.
I called up this particular Sonic (575-887-5102) and I asked to speak with a manager. What I got was some girl named Jaymi who said that someone who call me. I then went to the Sonic Corporate website, where I found a toll free contact number (1-866-657-6642) I called and spoke with a girl named Margret she too took a lot of information and told me someone would call. I guess we will wait and see.
