Hi,
I am new to Peanut Allergy.com. I have a 3 year old who was diagnosed at 20 months with a Peanut, Tree Nut, and Sesame seed allergy. We are still learning about what foods to avoid and was wondering if anyone knows the protocol on the spice Nutmeg. Is that something that should be avoided for a PA child?

Thanks!

From what I've researched online, nutmeg is considered safe. It comes from a tree, but is not a traditional tree nut. I've used it in cookies, and my daughter has never reacted to it.

I always thought that nutmeg was not actually a nut. We don't use it regularly, but I am sure my daughter has had it before without any problems.
